Affiliate disclosure and paid placement

RetaRadar is paid by at least one vendor on this site. This page explains exactly how, so you can judge what you read.

Paid placement: LeoLab

LeoLab (leolab.co.uk) is our sponsored partner. LeoLab pays us to appear in the #1 position of our ratings and to be featured on the home page. This is advertising.

• LeoLab's card, its row in the comparison table and its review are labelled “Sponsored partner · Paid placement” or “Sponsored”.
• LeoLab's score is not paid for. It is calculated with the same checklist as every other shop, from the same kinds of evidence, and shown next to its position. It may be lower than shops listed below it.
• Being first means LeoLab paid for the position. It does not mean we found LeoLab to be the best vendor.
• Links to LeoLab carry “(Ad)” where they appear as buttons.

Other vendors

At present no other vendor pays us. We may join affiliate programmes in future, which pay a commission when a reader buys through a link. If we do, we will list those vendors here. Commission will not affect scores or the order of non-partner vendors, which is set by score alone.

How links are marked

All links to vendors carry rel="sponsored", the standard way to tell search engines a link is commercial. Links to research papers and regulators are there for reference.

What vendors cannot buy

• A higher score, a badge, or removal of a negative finding.
• A place in the ratings if they do not meet our listing rules.
• Approval of our reviews before they are published.

Why we disclose it this way

UK consumer law (the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024) and the CAP Code, enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority, require paid promotion to be obvious to readers at the point they see it.
